Peace at the Convention of the Left
Wednesday 24th september
Friends Meeting House, Mount Street, Manchester

As with the last Century, war has become a defining feature of the Twenty First. An international peace movement is more vital than ever. This day’s discussion seeks to ask as well as answer questions such as:- If we talked to the IRA why can’t we talk to Hamas? What is the real cost of the war? Why are there more "contractors" than soldiers in Iraq? Hassan Juma, of the Iraqi Oil workers Union leads of a discussion on the reality of America’s ‘war for oil’. Including a forum on Africa’s forgotten wars and forums on Iran and Pakistan, PEACE day is a must for everyone who wants to give peace an chance.
